It is rapidly absorbed by leaves and roots, and rapidly conducts through xylem and phloem. It prevents the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids through acetolactate synthase. Weeds stop growing immediately after application, new leaves discoloration and necrosis in 4-5 days, and gradually expand to the whole plant, plant death in 20-25 days after treatment under normal conditions. Corn has good resistance to this drug, after treatment, there is a temporary greenish color or slight development retardation, but generally can recover quickly and does not reduce yields.
